The most recent Gracious Grape fundraiser took place on September 22, 2006 and was a tremendous success raising over $10,500 for the Canadian Diabetes Association!

"Last year's wine-tasting event organized by the Gracious Grape Committee was a great success and raised $10,557,12 to help send BC children living with diabetes to summer camp. The Committee's support allowed these children the opportunity to experience an invaluable summer of personal growth at camp, where they have learned to properly manage their diabetes and prevent serious health complications. On behalf of the Canadian Diabetes Association, thank you to the Gracious Grape Committee for your support!"

The event featured a funky wine tasting, art show and silent auction with live jazz, appetizers and sweets at the Roundhouse in Vancouver's hip Yaletown. There was no shortage of wines to discover, as table after table of wineries competed for our guests' attention to showcase their products. As they sipped on their latest find, guests perused some of the fresh art work from young Vancouver talent and bid on fabulous silent auction items such as a helicopter tour courtesy of Sierra Helicopters, a Glacier coffee table from Whistler Creek Furniture, and passes to the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival.
This year's after party was hosted by Bardot Restaurant and Terrace and kept the party going into the wee hours of the night.
We would like to thank all those who attended for helping the wine tasting more than quadruple the success of our prior year's fundraising effort. And if you missed out this year, please check back often to see what we have in store for next year.
